What is Human Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle yet powerful energy therapy, with supports both people to achieve holistic balance and better well-being. By channeling universal life force energy through the practitioner's hands, Reiki promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances the body's natural healing abilities.

How can Reiki benefit me?

Stress & Anxiety Reduction

The calming touch and focus of a Reiki session can promote relaxation and reduce feelings of anxiety and stress. This can be helpful for managing daily pressures and improving overall well-being.

Pain Relief

Reiki can help manage pain by promoting relaxation and improving the body's natural healing process. It is a complimentary therapy which can be used to help recover from medical procedures and to help minimise the side effects from surgery and medical treatments.

By focussing on parts of the body linked the the immune system, Reiki can boost and fortify the body's natural immunity, making it more able to handle common illnesses during the seasons.​

How to prepare for your reiki session

Wear loose and breathable clothes - something you feel most comfortable in.

Use the restroom to avoid your mind being distracted by any non-comforting thoughts.

The treatment usually takes place lying down on the massage table but you may feel more comfortable seated or even standing.

What to expect during your session

I will place my hands on or near your body in a serious of hand positions. Specific positions may be used based on your current needs.

Each position is held for 3 to 10 minutes.

Take some time to relax after the session. Drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity.

What happens after your session

I will discuss your experience with you briefly to ensure you are happy and comfortable.

Some people feel the benefits of Reiki after just one session, while others recommend multiple sessions for a cumulative effect.

As a gentle, non-invasive treatment that focuses on balancing the body's energy system, Reiki can be hugely beneficial for children of all ages. Children are naturally open and receptive to energy, which means they are likely to leave a Reiki session feeling relaxed, less stressed and with an improved overall well-being.

How does a Reiki session differ? 

A children's Reiki session is shorter and will be tailored each time depending on how old your child is, their attention and ability to relax (which may vary each session) and how your child responds to the treatment. There is no expectation for your child to lie still and quiet - they can move around if this makes them more comfortable - the treatment will still work.

I have various strategies to help children focus and relax during my sessions including listening to audio books and focussing on puzzle games and activities.

Note: parental supervision is optional and entirely at your discretion. Reiki is a complimentary treatment. If your child has a pre-existing medical treatment you should seek advice from your child's doctor.
